Amaretto sour is thought to come from 1970s USA when the Manhattan cocktail revival was riffing on the original Whiskey Sour and Gin Sour.
- 50ml amaretto
- Quarter of an egg white
- 1 tsp syrup from a jar of cocktail cherries
- 30ml lemon juice
Put all the ingredients in a blender and whizz until pale and expanded a little in volume. Add a small amount of ice and whizz again.
Pour into an Old Fashioned glass with some ice and garnish with cocktail cherry.
