A long, central table has steps leading up to it. The table top doubles as a stage where acrobats and dancers twist and turn with sequinned leotards flashing in the dramatic lighting. This is Circus London, which combines restaurant, bar and very full-on cabaret.

Although now deleted from the drinks menu, it was here in 2002 where you could ask the barman for a threesome and not get a funny look. Apple brandy combines with medicinal aniseed, orange and pineapple to create a curious, but rather good brew.
