Ube ice cream

Ube is everywhere in the Philippines. Filipinos flavour all sorts of things with it, including ice cream. They also magpie convenience food ingredients from around the world – particularly the USA. This is how we end up with an ice cream recipe that includes condensed milk and requires no cooking step whatsoever.

Ingredients

  • 750ml (3 cups) double cream
  • 397g (1 can) condensed milk
  • 125g (half cup) tbsp ube halaya
  • 2 tbsp McCormick ube flavouring

Instructions

Thoroughly mix all the ingredients in a bowl, ensuring the halaya has completely dissolved.

Churn 1 hour in an ice cream maker. Freeze.
