Roy Rogers

The Roy Rogers is said to have its origins as the ‘manly’ alternative to the ‘girly’ Shirley Temple. Cola was used for colour and grenadine to make it a ‘cocktail.’ The result can be too sweet, so Diet Coke is a good option. Made in the USA in the 1940s.

• 7.5ml grenadine
• Coca-Cola to top

Fill a highball glass with ice. Add the liquid ingredients and stir. Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
