Off the course, Palmer’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-create the iconic “Arnold Palmer” beverage, a mix of iced tea and lemonade. The beverage’s origin dates back to the 1960s when Palmer reportedly requested the mix at a restaurant. So the story goes that a lady saw Palmer order the drink and went to the bar asking for an ‘Arnold Palmer.’ The name then stuck.
